Embark on a 5-day luxury journey through the "Land of the Thunder Dragon" with Six Senses Bhutan — two nights in Six Senses Thimphu and two nights in Six Senses Paro. Explore two of Bhutan's most iconic valleys, visit landmark monasteries and living museums, enjoy a relaxing hike to Ta Dzong, and embark on the unforgettable trek to Tiger's Nest (Paro Taktsang). Our expertly guided tour weaves cultural immersion with world-class wellness and remarkable hospitality.

At Found Bhutan Tours and Treks, we do not take our guests on a virtual tour before arriving in Bhutan. We want you to fully explore and experience Bhutan first-hand. Therefore, we keep our itinerary intentionally evocative rather than exhaustive.

Begin your Bhutan journey with a warm Tashi Delek as you land at Paro — the only international airport in Bhutan. Complete your immigration process with your Bhutan E-visa and meet your local guide at the baggage delivery area. Transfer to Six Senses Thimphu, with an optional stop at the historic Tamchog Lhakhang and its iconic iron bridge draped in colourful prayer flags. After settling into your suite, ease into Bhutan's rhythms with a gentle exploration of Thimphu — visit the magnificent Buddha Dordenma Statue at Buddha Point, or take a calming hike to Changangkha Lhakhang to gently overcome any jetlag before a restorative evening at Six Senses.

Explore the majestic Tashichho Dzong, the fortress-monastery housing government offices and the central monk body. Accommodation

Six Senses Paro

Embark on a scenic drive from Thimphu to Paro, with the Himalayan foothills unfolding through your window. Enrich your cultural experience with a farmhouse lunch hosted by a local Bhutanese family — a rare and deeply personal glimpse into daily life. In the afternoon, enjoy a hike to the National Museum (Ta Dzong), home to an exceptional collection of ancient artifacts, before descending to explore the formidable Paro Dzong with its sweeping panoramas over the valley. Round off the day with an introduction to Bhutan's beloved national sport — archery — before checking into Six Senses Paro.

Six Senses Paro hosts the annual Paro Tsechu religious festival — ask us about timing your visit to coincide with this extraordinary event.

Trek Duration

~2.5 hrs each way (horse option available)

Elevation Gain

900 m above Paro Valley floor

Today's centrepiece is one of the most awe-inspiring hikes on earth — Paro Taktsang, the Tiger's Nest Monastery, perched impossibly on a sheer cliff 900 metres above the valley. The trek takes approximately 2.5 hours each way, with an option to rest at the halfway viewpoint terrace or ride a horse (self-paying) to the Taktsang Cafeteria for a memorable panoramic lunch. After the hike, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest monasteries built in 659 AD, marking the very origins of Buddhism in the country. In the evening, experience a deeply moving Buddhist blessing ceremony at neighbouring Samtenling Monastery, where you can light 108 butter lamps to share blessings with all sentient beings — a profound and fitting close to your Bhutan adventure.

Tiger's Nest is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. A visit is never just a hike — it is a moment of genuine pilgrimage.

As your journey through this magical kingdom draws to a close, depart Bhutan carrying priceless memories, fresh perspectives, and a profound respect for its living culture and breathtaking natural landscape. Your guide will accompany you to Paro International Airport for your onward departure. Bhutan has a way of staying with you long after you leave — we hope to welcome you back to the Land of the Thunder Dragon.

Our itineraries are always customisable. You can shorten your trip or extend it with additional valleys, treks, or festival experiences at any time.
