At Found Bhutan Tours and Treks, we do not take our guests on a virtual tour before arriving in Bhutan. We want our guests to fully explore and experience Bhutan first-hand. Therefore, we keep our itinerary short and less descriptive.

  • Your First Glimpse of Bhutan: One of the most breathtaking mountain flights in the world, the journey to Paro offers a continuously shifting view of some of the world's highest peaks. Once customs procedures are completed, our representative from Found Bhutan will meet you at the Paro airport exit doors. After lunch, spend the afternoon exploring Paro, exploring the attractions in Paro.

  • Thimphu Tshechu Festival: The Thimphu Tshechu Festival, coincides with the prime travel period of late September in Bhutan. This makes the festival an enticing draw for tourists, as the pleasant weather and vibrant celebrations converge. Your visit will include a tour of the Tashichho Dzong, the epicenter of festivities, featuring captivating mask dances and profound religious ceremonies. Explore Bhutan during this ideal travel window and immerse yourself in the cultural richness of the Thimphu Tshechu.

  • Thimphu Tshechu Festival: The festivities persist at Tashichho Dzong, where a remarkable event unfolds. Local residents typically unveil a massive Thangka, and this ceremony marks the peak of joy during the festival.

  • Punakha Sightseeing: The Tshechu Festival celebrations will continue today when you return to Paro, but let's first take a detour to Punakha to learn more about Bhutan. On your way to Punakha, you'll make a stop at the Dochu La Pass to take in the magnificent Himalayan Range. Punakha is the former capital of Bhutan. Chimi Lhakhang and Punakha Dzong will teach you about its history, culture, and religions. We return back to Paro after Punakha’s trip today.

  • Exploring Paro: Travel to Paro and embark on a captivating sightseeing expedition. Explore Paro Dzong, an exquisite showcase of Bhutanese historical architecture, followed by a visit to the National Museum of Bhutan, home to a fascinating collection of local artifacts and enriched with informative guidance.

  • Tigers Nest Monastery: This is one of the most exciting day for every tourist here in Bhutan. We will drive to Satsam Chorten, the base of the Tiger's Nest Monastery. Your hike to the iconic Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest Monastery) starts here. You can hike through Paro's stunning pine forest, past trees covered in Spanish moss, and occasionally come across a grove of prayer flags fluffing down the trail. This amazing construction clings to the brink of an extreme rock cliff that plunges 900 meters into the valley below.

  • Paro International Airport: As your trip in the magical country of Bhutan draw to a close, take away priceless memories, fresh insights, and a profound respect for Bhutan's opulent natural surroundings and rich cultural legacy.
