Bhutan Tour
from Philippines
From Manila or Cebu — to the Himalayan kingdom of happiness.
Bhutan Tour from
Philippines
The Philippines and Bhutan share a natural warmth and depth of cultural identity that makes the encounter between Filipino travellers and Bhutanese people one of the most immediately joyful in Bhutan’s tourism experience. Filipinos are celebrated across Asia for their warmth and genuine hospitality — and they find it met in full by the Bhutanese, whose own warmth is legendary among travellers.
From Manila (MNL) or Cebu (CEB), the most convenient routing is Philippine Airlines or Thai Airways to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (~3 hours from Manila), then Druk Air to Paro (~3.5 hours). Alternatively fly to Singapore Changi then Druk Air 3x weekly. Total journey approximately 7–9 hours — one of the shorter Southeast Asian connections to Bhutan.
Found Bhutan is a licensed local agency based in Thimphu. Every itinerary is built from scratch around your interests, travel dates, and style. Whether you’re planning a cultural immersion, a Himalayan trek, a luxury honeymoon, or a family adventure, Bhutan offers an experience that the Philippines simply cannot match.
Visa & Entry for
Philippines Travellers
All international visitors to Bhutan — except Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian nationals — must obtain a visa before travelling. Bhutan does not issue visas on arrival for international tourists. The visa is applied through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator (like Found Bhutan), costs USD 40 per person, and takes approximately 5–10 working days to process. Once approved, a visa clearance letter is emailed to you before departure. The official visa stamp is placed in your passport on arrival at Paro Airport.
Documents required: Valid Philippine passport with at least 6 months validity. Your Found Bhutan visa clearance letter. Philippine passport holders do not require a transit visa for airside connections via Bangkok or Singapore.
Sustainable Development Fee (SDF): USD 100 per person per night — a Government of Bhutan levy funding free education, healthcare, and conservation. Included in all Found Bhutan packages.
Flights to Bhutan
from Philippines
Paro International Airport is Bhutan’s only international airport — one of the world’s most dramatic, requiring specially certified pilots to navigate the Himalayan descent. From the Philippines, the most popular routing is via Bangkok with Philippine Airlines or Thai Airways, then Druk Air to Paro.
Approx. 3 hours. Then Druk Air BKK–PBH (~3.5 hrs). Total ~7 hours.

Approx. 3.5 hours. Then Druk Air SIN–PBH (Tue/Thu/Sun, ~5.5 hrs).
Booking Tip for Filipino Travellers
Bangkok is the best hub for Filipino travellers. Philippine Airlines and Thai Airways fly MNL–BKK multiple times daily, and Druk Air Bangkok–Paro is the most frequent connection. Book 6–8 weeks ahead during peak season. OFWs based overseas can also book Bhutan tours starting from their host country.
Why Filipino Travellers
Love Bhutan
Warmth Meets Warmth
Filipinos are celebrated across Asia for warmth and genuine hospitality. They find it completely reciprocated in Bhutan — the Bhutanese are equally warm and genuinely delighted to share their country. The chemistry between Filipino travellers and Bhutanese guides is consistently described as the highlight of the trip.
Closer Than Most Filipinos Realise
Via Bangkok, Bhutan is approximately 7 hours from Manila — shorter than many destinations Filipinos regularly travel to. A 7-day Bhutan trip is very viable and well worth the journey.
Mountains on a Himalayan Scale
The Philippines has Mayon, Apo, and the Cordilleras. The Himalayas are a completely different scale — passes at 3,000–5,000m, peaks above 7,000m. Filipino mountain lovers find it genuinely awe-inspiring.
Spiritual Depth in Every Valley
Filipino Catholic and Buddhist traditions share a love of sacred architecture and communal ritual. Bhutan’s living Buddhist culture — incense, chanting, festivals, ancient monasteries — is spiritually resonant in its own deeply different way.
Festival Culture They Understand Immediately
Filipinos are festival people. Bhutan’s Tshechu festivals — multi-day sacred celebrations with elaborate costumes, mask dances, and an entire community in traditional dress — speak directly to a culture that understands how festivals hold a people together.
Photography of Extraordinary Richness
Filipino photography culture is strong and passionate. Bhutan offers subjects unavailable anywhere else — dzong architecture at golden hour, festival mask dances, monks at prayer, Himalayan panoramas. Every day in Bhutan is a photography day.
A Country That Has Protected Its Environment
The Philippines has fought hard for its forests, reefs, and mountains. Bhutan has constitutionally mandated 60%+ forest cover and carbon-negative status. Filipino travellers who care about the environment find Bhutan’s achievement deeply inspiring.
Luxury for Special Occasions
Six Senses Bhutan, Amankora, and Uma by COMO offer world-class honeymoon and anniversary experiences. Many Filipino couples choose Bhutan as their honeymoon destination precisely because it offers something no beach resort can.
