Bhutan Tour
from UAE
From Dubai or Abu Dhabi — the complete opposite of the desert, and worth every hour.
Bhutan Tour from
UAE
The UAE is a country of extraordinary achievement in the desert — towers of glass and steel, man-made islands, and a culture of ambition and speed. Bhutan is the complete opposite: Himalayan silence, ancient monastery fortresses, forests covering 72% of the country by constitutional requirement, and a national philosophy that explicitly measures success by happiness rather than growth. UAE travellers arrive in Bhutan and find the most complete contrast to their daily environment available anywhere in Asia.
From Dubai International (DXB) or Abu Dhabi (AUH), the most convenient routing is Emirates or Air India to Delhi Indira Gandhi Airport (~3 hours), then Druk Air or Bhutan Airlines to Paro (~2 hours). Alternatively fly to Bangkok via Emirates and connect to Druk Air. Total journey approximately 7–10 hours.
Found Bhutan is a licensed local agency based in Thimphu. UAE travellers typically expect excellent service, privacy, and quality — all of which Bhutan’s finest properties deliver. Every itinerary is built from scratch around your group and schedule. AED pricing available on request.
Visa & Entry for
UAE Travellers
All international visitors to Bhutan — except Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian nationals — must obtain a visa before travelling. The visa is applied through your licensed Bhutanese tour operator (Found Bhutan), costs USD 40 per person, and takes approximately 5–10 working days. Once approved, a visa clearance letter is emailed to you before departure.
Documents required: Valid passport with at least 6 months validity. Your Found Bhutan visa clearance letter. UAE residents of all nationalities can apply. Routing via Delhi may require an Indian transit visa if exiting the airport — routing via Bangkok avoids this entirely.
Sustainable Development Fee (SDF): USD 100 per person per night — a Government of Bhutan levy. Included in all Found Bhutan packages. AED quotes available on request.
Flights to Bhutan
from UAE
Paro International Airport is Bhutan’s only international airport and one of the world’s most dramatic. From the UAE, the most practical routing is Emirates or Air India to Delhi, then Druk Air to Paro. The Dubai–Delhi sector is one of the busiest air routes in Asia.
Approx. 3 hours. Then Druk Air DEL–PBH (~2 hrs). Total ~7 hours.
Approx. 3 hours. Then Druk Air DEL–PBH (~2 hrs). Total ~7 hours.
Approx. 6 hours. Then Druk Air BKK–PBH (~3.5 hrs). Alternative routing.
Booking Tip for UAE Travellers
Delhi is the fastest hub from the UAE — just 3 hours from Dubai, then 2 hours on Druk Air to Paro. Multiple carriers fly UAE–Delhi daily. Book Druk Air at least 6–8 weeks ahead during peak season. Found Bhutan can arrange luxury packages, private family tours, and group itineraries. AED pricing available on request.
Why UAE Travellers
Love Bhutan
The Complete Opposite of the Desert
UAE travellers live in a landscape of extremes — heat, flatness, and urban intensity. Bhutan is the exact opposite: Himalayan peaks, forest valleys, mountain silence, and a pace that has not been accelerated. The contrast is total and the reset is immediate.
Luxury at the Highest Level
Six Senses Bhutan, Amankora, and Uma by COMO are world-class properties that match the hospitality standards UAE travellers expect — exceptional cuisine, outstanding spa facilities, and personal service in settings of extraordinary natural beauty. Bhutan’s luxury offering delivers at the same level as the finest desert resorts, with unmatched cultural depth.
Exceptional for Families
Bhutan is genuinely safe, deeply family-friendly, and extraordinary for children. The private tour format means the entire itinerary adapts to your family’s pace. UAE families find Bhutan one of the most rewarding family destinations available from Dubai.
Ancient Sacred Architecture
UAE travellers who appreciate the heritage architecture of the region — mosques, forts, historic souks — find Bhutan’s dzong architecture equally serious and equally site-specific. Massive fortress-monasteries built into mountain valleys, 17th-century temples perched on cliffsides.
The Conservation Achievement of Our Era
UAE’s investment in sustainability and green energy represents a serious national commitment. Bhutan has achieved the gold standard: constitutional forest protection, carbon-negative status, and a visitor model that explicitly prevents mass tourism damage.
Privacy and Exclusivity
Bhutan’s high value, low volume model limits visitor numbers. In a country with fewer annual international tourists than a major Dubai hotel receives in a month, the privacy and exclusivity appeal directly to UAE travellers who value both.
Photography for the Discerning Eye
UAE photographers are experienced with dramatic landscapes and architecture. Bhutan adds cultural subjects unavailable in the Gulf — festival mask dances, dzong architecture, Himalayan panoramas, monks at prayer.
Closer Than You Think
Dubai to Delhi is 3 hours. Delhi to Paro is 2 hours. Total: 7 hours. Bhutan is one of the closest genuine Himalayan destinations from the UAE.
