From Stockholm, the most convenient routing is Emirates via Dubai (approximately 7 hours to Dubai), then Druk Air's twice-weekly Dubai–Paro service (via a scheduled Delhi stop, approximately 6-7.5 hours depending on direction). An alternative is via Delhi. Given the total journey, we recommend 10–14 days in Bhutan.

Swedish travellers bring a strong sustainability ethic and an appreciation for understated design — both of which Bhutan, with its restrained architecture and genuine environmental policy, answers well. Visa & Entry for
Sweden Travellers
All international visitors to Bhutan — except Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian nationals — must obtain a visa before travelling. The visa is applied through your licensed Bhutanese tour operator (Found Bhutan), costs USD 40 per person, and takes approximately 5–10 working days. Once approved, a visa clearance letter is emailed to you before departure.
Documents required: Valid Swedish passport with at least 6 months validity. Your Found Bhutan visa clearance letter. Swedish passport holders do not require a transit visa for the airside Dubai connection; if routing via Delhi or Kolkata on separate tickets, check Indian transit visa requirements in advance.
Sustainable Development Fee (SDF): USD 100 per person per night — a Government of Bhutan levy. Included in all Found Bhutan packages.

Paro International Airport is Bhutan’s only international airport and one of the world’s most dramatic. From Sweden, the most practical routing is via dubai or delhi, then Druk Air or Bhutan Airlines onward to Paro.

Booking Tip for Swedish Travellers
